God has blessed you and our Parish Community with a beautiful gift - your child. At Baptism we will celebrate our faith together and your child's initiation into the faith.
Registered parishioners who wish their child baptized at St. Viator are required to participate in our TWO-SESSION BAPTISMAL PROGRAM. Parents will complete the Baptism Registration Form during the second class. Expectant parents are also welcome to attend this program.
- Session 1 is an informal meeting with other parents wishing to have their child baptized. This is a time for parents to exchange with one another their ideas and practices of how they live the Christian principles in their every day lives. Parents also have the opportunity to explore a deeper understanding of Baptism and its sacramental meaning.
- Session 2 looks at the Baptismal ceremony and its many symbols and the place of the sacrament in the life of the Church.
BAPTISMS are administered every Sunday immediately following the 12:00 p.m. mass. Parents and godparents are asked to attend the noon liturgy.
OFFERING Offerings are gratefully accepted and checks should be made payable to St. Viator Catholic Community and given to the priest.
General Information
Pictures may be taken during the ceremony. We ask that families assign the cameras to someone who is not directly involved in the ceremony, and not to the parent or godparents.
The parish office will mail the baptism certificate to the parents soon afterwards. Parents need to carefully review the baptism certificate for errors.
