Weddings and Marriage Preparation
Each wedding at St. Viator is a very personal event. Your wedding is not just a legal ceremony, but a sacrament and, therefore, a significant moment on your journey of faith. Thus, your wedding ceremony is much more than the exchange of marriage vows and the sharing of rings. It is a sacrament filled with music, symbols, family, friends, and the rich tradition of our Catholic faith.
Everyone at St. Viator looks forward to assisting you during this special time. We are here to help you prepare for this wonderful experience celebrating your love for one another in marriage and God's presence in your lives. Engaged couples who wish to schedule a wedding at St. Viator can contact Beth Schill, Marriage Coordinator, at the parish office 702.733.8323, ext. 302 or [email protected]. She will explain the administrative process of preparing for a Catholic wedding, assist in selecting a date for your blessed event, and guide you through the planning of your ceremony. An Introductory Session is scheduled and the couple receives a wedding information packet, which includes our Marriage Preparation Handbook. This meeting answers many of the bride and groom's questions. The wedding date is usually set during the Introductory Session and we strongly suggest you not book your reception venue until a firm date for your wedding is established. *Marriage Preparation Handbook Those seeking marriage preparation for a wedding in another diocese are asked to contact the Marriage Coordinator at least 9 months prior to the wedding for assistance with this process. |
